Born in 1958, he graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Medicine in 1984. He completed his doctorate in Adult Psychiatry in 1991 as Assistant Dr. Between 1991-2004, he worked as Psychiatry Specialist, Associate Professor, 2nd Psychiatry Clinic Chief and finally AMATEM Director at Ankara Numune Hospital.

Since 2012, he has been managing the NPISTANBUL Hospital Addiction Center.
