Clinical Psychologist Tuğçe Tunçel was born in Istanbul in 1994. He graduated with high honors from Özel Çınar College in 2012, from the Psychology (English) program at Üsküdar University in 2017, and from the Clinical Psychology (Thesis Track) program at Üsküdar University in 2019, having completed his thesis under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eylem ÖZTEN on “Relationships Between Early Maladaptive Schemas, Perceived Parenting Styles, Schema-Maintaining Coping Behaviors, and Marital Adjustment in Married Individuals: An Examination Within the Framework of the Schema Therapy Model.” During his undergraduate and graduate studies, he participated in numerous academic research projects, social responsibility initiatives, and volunteer activities. Throughout his education, he gained experience at Bakırköy Hospital for Mental and Nervous Disorders, NP Istanbul Hospital, Başakşehir Çınar College, the Department of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry within the Department of Psychiatry at Çapa Faculty of Medicine, the Neuropsychology Laboratory at Çapa Faculty of Medicine, the Private Hümanite Medical Center, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Esenler İSEM, the Nezih Şişli Nursing Home, and the Başakşehir RAM as an intern. During his thesis period, he began seeing clients at the Psychological Counseling Unit of Üsküdar University and, under supervision, worked as an assistant psychologist at the unit, providing ongoing client care for 9 months. From February 2020 to November 2020, he worked as a Clinical Psychologist at the Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality Family Counseling Center, conducting individual, couples, and family therapy sessions with adults. In November 2020, he began working as a Clinical Psychologist at the Turkish Yeşilay Society, where he conducted individual psychotherapy sessions and group therapy with individuals struggling with alcohol, substance, tobacco, technology, and gambling addictions—as well as their families—across child, adolescent, and adult groups. under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kültegin Ögel and Specialist Dr. Ömer Kardaş. Additionally, from November 2021 to January 2023, he served as the YEDAM Coordinator as an additional responsibility. As of January 2023, he continued his work in the position of Assistant Director of Business and Strategy Development, balancing both clinical and administrative responsibilities for two years until January 2025. Through in-person regional meetings, he reached all regions of Turkey at the national level, and by participating in conferences such as CND and ECTOH, he had the opportunity to deliver presentations on addiction in the international arena. As of January 2025, he has continued his role as a Clinical Psychologist at NPİSTANBUL Hospital, working with adult patients.
