He was born in Mersin in 1961. He attended middle school and high school at Tarsus American College. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Trakya University. He earned a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Boğaziçi University.

He currently works as a physician and psychologist. He specializes in depression, anxiety, psychosis, and, in particular, sexual issues. His treatments are based on the cognitive-behavioral approach. He is married and has a daughter.
