Born in 1969 in Istanbul, he graduated from Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1994. He worked as a general practitioner in Kütahya. In 2002, he became a psychiatry specialist at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty. In 2020, Tan, who received the title of Associate Professor in the field of Mental Health and Diseases, is a faculty member at Üsküdar University and the director of Feneryolu Medical Center affiliated to the same university.
