Short CV
He was born in Istanbul in 1962. He completed his elementary school education at Osmangazi Elementary School from 1968 to 1972, and his middle school and high school education at Kadıköy Kız Lisesi from 1972 to 1978. He graduated from the Department of Psychology at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Letters in 1984.
From 1985 to 1988, he received training in psychological testing at the Psychology Laboratory of the Çapa Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University. From 1986 to 1988, he worked as a psychologist at the Çekirdek Children’s Home and the Dialysis Center at Tepebaşı Vatan Hospital, where he conducted individual psychotherapy under supervision.
From 1988 to 1998, he worked as a psychologist at the Psychiatry Clinic of GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital, where he established the psychology laboratory and provided training to trainee psychologists. During this period, in addition to conducting individual psychotherapy sessions, he led group sessions and began his training in psychodrama.
Beginning in 1990, he received psychodrama training at the Dr. Abdülkadir Özbek Institute of Psychodrama; following a training process that spanned many years, he completed his thesis and earned the title of “Psychodrama Therapist.”
Between 1997 and 2000, he completed his master’s degree at the Department of Social Sciences, Institute of Forensic Medicine, Istanbul University, and prepared a thesis titled “Evaluation of WISC-R Test Results for Runaway Children Living on the Streets.”
Starting in 1998, he served as the Head of the Clinical Psychology Unit at Memory Center, where he conducted work in the areas of stress management, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and social phobia. He received training in and implemented various techniques, including Neuro-Biofeedback, Rehacom, EFT, and therapeutic cards.
From 2004 to 2009, he hosted the “Psikoyorum” program, which aired on SkyTürk TV.
Since the 2012–2013 academic year, he has been teaching “Group Psychotherapies” to undergraduate students, “Advanced Group Therapies” to master’s students in clinical psychology, and “Psychodrama” to master’s students in occupational therapy at Üsküdar University.
As part of the “New Youth Project,” carried out in collaboration between Üsküdar University and the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Turkey, he served as an instructor for the “Perseverance” module.
In 2021, he completed the Doctoral Program in Psychology at the Institute of Social Sciences at Üsküdar University and presented his dissertation titled “The Effect of Respiratory Biofeedback on Disease Severity and
quantitative electroencephalogram parameters” in 2021.
He is the author of three books: “Social Phobia,” “What’s There to Be Afraid Of,” and “What’s There to Worry About.”
Since 2012, he has served as the General Coordinator of Psychotherapy Services at NPİSTANBUL Hospital and continues to provide individual and group therapy.
