Prof.Dr. A. Oğuz TANRIDAĞ

Neurology Specialist

Prof. Dr. A. Oğuz TANRIDAĞ was born in Ankara on October 17, 1951. He started his medical education at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine and graduated in 1975. After completing his compulsory service in the Turkish Air Force Flight Units between 1976 and 1979, he continued his specialty training at GATA Department of Neurology between 1979 and 1982.

After completing his compulsory service at Etimesgut Air Hospital between 1982-1984, he worked as a clinical researcher in the Department of Neurology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine between 1984-1986 in order to develop his career in the international arena.

In 1986, he was promoted to assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at GATA, then to associate professor in 1987 and to professor in 1993. He was honored by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) with the Incentive Award in 1989.

Between 2002 and 2006, he served as the chief of service at GATA Haydarpaşa Neurology Service, he also served as the editor of the Turkish Journal of Neurology since 2003 and contributed to the work in the field of neurology by being appointed as the Cognitive Group Coordinator of the Turkish Neurology Association in 2004. Since 2006, he has been playing an important role as the Cognitive Group Secretary of the Federation of European Neurological Societies. Since 2006, he has been working as a neurology specialist at NPISTANBUL Brain Hospital.
