Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT); diagnosis and treatment of hearing, speech, nasal and sinus disorders, balance disorders, and throat diseases; as well as surgery for head and neck cancers and tumors in this region. As the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) and Head and Neck Surgery Department of our hospital, our goal is to assist our patients by utilizing modern diagnostic and treatment methods in our surgical field, while respecting patient rights and adhering to ethical standards. In our Ear, Nose, and Throat Department, we perform the diagnosis and treatment of hearing and speech disorders, nasal and sinus conditions, balance disorders, and throat diseases, as well as the surgical treatment of head and neck cancers and tumors in this region.

The Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) department is a medical specialty focused on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the head, neck, ears, nose, and throat.

Some ENT Conditions Treated at Our Hospitals

Rhinology (Nose and Sinus Disorders)
This field covers all types of congenital, infectious, developmental, and neoplastic diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses. Deviated septum and nasal polyps are treated using the latest techniques and technologies, such as radiofrequency ablation. Endoscopic sinus surgery is performed to treat sinusitis.

Treatment
of Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat Disorders The treatment of conditions seen in childhood—such as difficulty breathing, snoring, recurrent infections, hearing impairments, and allergies—is carried out in coordination with our hospital’s pediatric department. Surgical procedures are performed for patients who have been deemed to require surgery (adenoids, tonsils, otitis media).

Facial Fractures
Fractures of facial bones—such as the nose, jaw, and cheekbones—and airway injuries resulting from trauma are among the most critical ENT emergencies. These fractures are treated using open or closed techniques and, when necessary, with microplates and screws.
Voice
Disorders
Diseases originating from the vocal cords or restricting their movement lead to hoarseness. The vocal cords and their functions are evaluated through endoscopic examinations, and cases requiring surgery are treated under a microscope and, when necessary, using a laser.

Head and Neck Tumors

This category includes all types of benign and malignant tumors originating in the head and neck region. As with all tumors, a multidisciplinary approach is essential for head and neck tumors. After patients are evaluated in collaboration with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and radiologists, their treatment plans are formulated. In surgical treatment, in addition to treating the affected area, neck dissections must be performed effectively in cases where there are or may be neck metastases. Our hospital has an experienced team dedicated to this field.
Snoring

Snoring and sleep apnea (cessation of breathing during sleep) are conditions that seriously impair people’s quality of life and health. It is important to address these conditions—which are triggered by many factors—holistically. Patients are evaluated using polysomnography (a sleep test), and
in appropriate cases, surgical interventions on the nose, soft palate, or jaw may be performed to correct airway narrowing.
Allergic Rhinitis
Substances that stimulate the immune system and cause allergies are called allergens. When the immune system first encounters an allergen entering the body, no clinical symptoms appear because specific antibodies (IgE) against that substance have not yet been produced. These specific antibodies are produced upon the first exposure, but upon the second exposure, the immune system reacts, leading to the appearance of allergy symptoms. Ear Canal Problems
The ear canal (EC) is approximately 2.5 cm long in adults. The outer third consists of cartilage, while the inner two-thirds consist of bone. The skin of the cartilaginous portion contains hair and hair follicles, as well as sebaceous and sweat glands. The secretions from these glands, combined with shed epithelial cells, form a protective secretion called cerumen. Cerumen serves a protective function in the external auditory canal (EAC); the substances it contains create a protective barrier against infection. Sinusitis
Sinuses are air-filled cavities located around the nose. They open into the nasal cavities through specialized channels. Their interiors are filled with air. The nasal cavities and sinuses are lined as a single unit by a mucous membrane with the same characteristics. This membrane continuously produces a cleansing secretion, which is drained from the sinuses into the nasal cavity through their own channels via the cilia on the surface of the membrane. Ringing
in the Ears Tinnitus is defined as the perception of sound in the ears or head in the absence of external acoustic stimuli. The term is derived from the Latin word “tinnire,” meaning “to ring.” This sound can be described by patients in many different ways, but regardless of its nature, it is referred to as tinnitus. Considered a symptom rather than a disease, tinnitus is believed not only to reduce an individual’s quality of life but also to contribute to various mental health issues. . Dizziness
Balance is maintained as a result of the brain processing information from the eyes, the balance organs in the inner ear, and the musculoskeletal system. A disorder in any one of these systems disrupts the coordination among them and can lead to symptoms of imbalance or dizziness. Ear, Nose, and Throat Treatment Methods

At our hospital, treatment begins after a diagnosis is made following outpatient clinic visits, laboratory tests, radiological examinations, and audiological evaluations. The ENT Outpatient Clinic provides services using an endovision system—which enables endoscopic examinations in addition to traditional examination tools—and an examination microscope for detailed ear examinations.
Our operating rooms are equipped with the necessary surgical sets to ensure patient comfort and contribute to a successful surgical process. These sets stand out as equipment that supports physicians’ practice in the fields of endoscopic sinus surgery, middle ear and mastoid surgery, and vocal cord surgery. Our operating rooms also feature the medical equipment, medical staff, and intensive care services necessary to successfully perform surgeries for major cancers of the head and neck. In conjunction with these resources, we utilize the maximum range of treatment options for the benefit of our patients.
Our hospital has established an infrastructure featuring Turkey’s first and only 1A Ultra Clean operating room system, enabling us to provide services in a wide range of fields—from robotic surgery to aneurysm surgery, as well as procedures for Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy.
