One of the most important causes of cognitive impairment is brain damage. This condition, which is seen in a significant proportion of patients who have suffered a serious head injury, negatively affects the quality of life. Unlike diagnostic procedures where the main goal is to determine the level of cognitive performance, rehabilitation programs aim to reduce the loss of performance caused by brain injury. As with all rehabilitation efforts, the goal of Rehacom is to restore the person to their pre-trauma state as much as possible, or if this is not possible, to a level where they can continue their daily life on their own.
Brain Check Up and Mental Rehabilitation
It is a new treatment strategy for attention training in children and regaining lost or regressed mental abilities in adults. A brain 'check-up' is performed to understand the brain connections of symptoms such as forgetfulness, absent-mindedness, inability to find what you are looking for, repetitive questions, difficulty in reading comprehension, irritability, personality change. Structural status is measured with MRI, functional status with mapping, and mental, social and emotional skills with neuropsychological tests. If there are deficiencies, a personalized treatment protocol is prepared to improve the quality of life and ensure fluency and clarity of thought. Medication, diet, memory training and stress management activities are planned. A protective and preventive support program is carried out after head trauma and in Alzheimer's risk groups.
Computerized training modules and computerized cognitive tests are applied before and after treatment. Treatment results are tested. For this purpose, the Schuhfried® Vienna Testing and Treatment System is applied in our institutions.
The Mental Rehabilitation program, which is part of the "Vienna Testing System", consists of"Computerized Training Modules". ReHaCom is a mind development program. This program is aimed at the treatment of the diagnosis received and is carried out for 30 minutes or by increasing or decreasing according to the patient, sometimes by applying a single program, sometimes by applying two programs together.
