High blood pressure complaints can be seen

Prof. Dr. Dilek Sarıkaya continued her words as follows: "Especially complaints such as increased blood pressure and high blood pressure may be seen. In someone with diabetes, it can lead to an increase in blood sugar and frequent problems with it. It can cause physical problems such as unidentified pain, numbness, tingling, and especially significant and serious headaches. For this reason, in cases where there are some physical symptoms that cannot be fully understood, after being examined by the relevant branch physician, for example, if there are neurological symptoms such as dizziness and headache and no neurological disorder is detected to explain it, we recommend that a mental health and diseases specialist should be consulted, considering that this may be due to a psychological cause."

Significant avoidance behaviors may be present

Prof. Dr. Dilek Sarıkaya said, "If our fears and anxieties lead to very significant avoidance behaviors, if these avoidance behaviors significantly affect our quality of life, if they significantly affect our ability to maintain our social and family relationships and our work life, we strongly recommend that we seek support from a mental health and diseases specialist."

Psychological resilience can be developed

Defining the concept of psychological resilience as a general concept that describes the level of a person's ability to react and cope with certain psychological traumas or stress factors, Sarıkaya said, "It is said here that individuals with high psychological resilience or resilience are less affected by traumatic experiences or that the effects of trauma lead to post-traumatic stress disorder or depression at a lower rate. Psychological resilience is defined as a condition that can be developed through research and it is possible to achieve a higher level of resilience."
