Gulhane Aphasia Test

Gulhane Aphasia Test

The GAT-2 consists of 7 sections in total. These sections are spontaneous speech, speech comprehension, reading comprehension, oral motor assessment, automatic speech, repetition and naming. The total scores of the test are divided into "language-score" and "motor-score". The "language-score" consists of the total scores of spontaneous speech, speech comprehension, automatic speech, repetition and naming subtests. The "motor-score" consists of the scores of the oral-motor evaluation subtest. While the "language-score" provides information about the individual's linguistic performance, the "motor-score" provides information about the individual's motor speech problems.

The GAT-2 is based on the GAT. While developing the GAT-2, some sections were removed from the original GAT. These were the sections on complex questions, color naming, writing, numerical ability and copying function. The items of the other sections were completely revised and renewed. The words for the pictures in the naming subtest were selected based on their frequency of use in spoken language and their pronunciation.
