What is the Subconscious?

What is the Subconscious?

Consciousness is the brain activity responsible for emotions, thoughts and behaviors in which reason and logic are not disabled. Consciousness covers all kinds of planned behaviors that an individual does in his/her life. It is the work of consciousness to become fully aware of the action that is taking place. Subconsciousness, on the other hand, is the forms of behavior that disable reason and logic and are applied without thinking and involuntarily. Events such as speaking, decision making, problem solving are practiced by consciousness. The subconscious, on the other hand, has a high proportion in the total actions of people such as creativity, daydreaming, memory storage, willpower, self-confidence or feelings of love. All kinds of actions that individuals do thoughtlessly represent the subconscious and all actions are guided by the subconscious unless there is a specific order from the consciousness.

The subconscious is the state of having mental phases outside the state of consciousness. The subconscious is very active because it works with the nervous system. All emotions, experiences and unconscious actions such as unhappiness, fear, anxiety, happiness, contentment and habits are recorded by the subconscious. An example of an unconscious influence on any action taken without thinking about it is a bricklayer building a wall, a housewife cleaning, or walking from one region to another. This situation is similar to an automatic pilot flying an airplane.

What are the characteristics of the subconscious mind?

Understanding the characteristics of the subconscious mind and how it works is very important for understanding mental processes. We can list the prominent features of the subconscious mind as follows;

The subconscious mind is constantly awake and working: In daily life, the subconscious records events that are not perceived by the mind. This can be exemplified by the fact that when you fall asleep while watching television, you are aware of the broadcasts on television.

The subconscious being a problem solver: The subconscious sees this situation as a problem and tries to solve it quickly in moments of stress or problems experienced by the individual.

The subconscious mind perpetuates habits: In order for an action to become a habit, that action must be repeated continuously. Although the conscious mind is the first to carry out complex and difficult tasks, the subconscious mind takes over in time. In this way, the mind does not try to do the same actions.

The subconscious does not perceive negative situations: The subconscious mind does not consider non-positive sentences as existing and perceives them as the opposite. It does not perceive the suffixes "-me, -ma" added at the end of words, which indicate negativity. For example, it perceives someone's sentence "don't smoke" as "smoke" and will not abandon it even if it is not a good habit. On the other hand, the sentence "smoking harms health" may be more suitable for utilizing the power of the subconscious mind.

The subconscious is more powerful than the conscious: Consciousness covers 5% of our actions and thoughts, while the subconscious covers 95%. This shows that the decisions, actions, feelings and thoughts that make up an important part of our lives are largely within the subconscious mind.

How to Clean the Subconscious?

In order to clean the subconscious mind and benefit from the power of the subconscious mind, it is necessary to know and understand it well. The subconscious mind provides significant direction to our lives and it is not easy to transform this situation. Therefore, the subconscious mind should direct the subconscious mind, not the person. The situation to be careful here is to realize how much of the habitual movements occurring in the subconscious mind are correct and how much of them are not correct. The most important of the subconscious mind cleansing techniques is to control the habitual movements that are constantly practiced. Apart from this, others of the subconscious cleaning techniques are as follows;
Moving away from negative thinking: The subconscious begins to perceive negative discourse and experiences in the same way. Therefore, correcting the negative way of thinking is important for healing the subconscious mind.

Asking questions to the subconscious: Not every action of the subconscious mind is correct. Sometimes it can internalize feelings of fear, anxiety, etc. in people and exaggerate them and send them back to the individual. In order to combat these negative emotions, the individual should ask himself/herself "why am I afraid?" and find the main source of what he/she is afraid of, and then stop being afraid of this situation and start fighting it or turn it into a normal event.

Not turning subconscious thoughts that are not good into beliefs: No matter how old the original source of bad experiences in the subconscious mind is, it does not form a belief unless the person wants it to. The important thing is not to fall for and accept bad thoughts in the subconscious mind. This way, these ideas cannot affect emotions and do not turn into a real situation.

Directing the subconscious mind: The subconscious mind has a significant impact on our lives. Therefore, the reason behind the negative feelings it makes us feel is to protect the person. Finding the situation that protects the person and developing a measure according to that person can eliminate the feelings that are not good in the subconscious mind.

What is Subconscious Therapy?

With subconscious therapy , it is possible to transform the subconscious mind in a good way, to clean it from bad ideas and to get rid of the traces of past traumas. Sometimes these are techniques that the individual can apply spontaneously, sometimes with professional support from psychologists or therapists, and sometimes by reading subliminal books. Some of the subconscious therapy techniques are as follows;
Self-Administered Subconscious Therapy

  • Breathing in and out in the morning in the fresh air with eyes closed to activate the happiness hormone
  • Confronting thoughts that make the individual restless
  • Acceptance of one's wrongdoings and bad actions
  • The best time to communicate with the subconscious mind is at night before going to sleep, when self-hypnosis (self-suggestion without the support of another person) is practiced.

Professionally conducted subconscious therapy

Breathing therapy: It is a technique that makes the individual feel psychologically and physically better, and also encourages the body to think healthily by bringing more oxygen to the body.

Hypnosis: It is a psychotherapy technique that is applied between sleep and wakefulness in order to give better suggestions to individuals.

Theta healing: A meditation technique that cleanses the body of feelings from the past that prevent and limit positive actions.
