Ses terapisi, seslerini aktif olarak kullanan bireylerin ses yapılarının bozulmasını önlemek ve ses sağlığını korumak amacıyla yapılan bir terapi türüdür. Terapi, doğru ses üretimini sağlamak ve ses tellerine zarar veren yüksek sesle konuşma, bağırma, çok fazla telefon konuşması, sigara içme, gergin ve stresli konuşma, yanlış perdede konuşma, çok fazla konuşma ve alkol tüketimi gibi durumları düzeltmeyi hedefler. Ses analizi ile bireyin ses bozukluğu belirlenir ve konuşma ve dil terapisti tarafından, doğru nefes alma teknikleri ve sesin doğru kullanımı öğretilerek uygulanır. Terapi süresi bireyin durumuna göre 6 ila 10 seans arasında değişir. Ses terapisi, ses nodülleri, ses felci sonucu oluşan kısıklık, konjenital ses teli bozuklukları, kas gerginliği disfonisi, ses teli ameliyatından sonra ses rehabilitasyonu ve ergenlik sonrası erkeklerde ses kalınlaşmasının olmaması gibi durumlarda kullanılır. Ses tellerini korumak için ise ses tellerini tahriş eden maddelerden kaçınılmalı, boğaz nemli tutulmalı, gürültülü ortamlarda konuşmaktan kaçınılmalı, ilaçlar doktor gözetimi altında kullanılmalı, yeterli miktarda su tüketilmeli, işitme sorunları tedavi edilmeli ve ses egzersizleri yapılmalıdır.

What is Voice Therapy?

Voice therapy aims to protect the vocal cords and to eliminate disorders in the health of the voice. Voice therapy is done to ensure the most accurate sound production. Individuals often cannot use their voices correctly and are not aware of this. Speaking in a very low voice or speaking loudly are among the voice disorders. Speaking loudly is a way of speaking that damages the vocal cords. It is often not possible for the individual to change these behaviors without therapy. At this point, they should seek help from a therapist. Voice therapy is mostly preferred by voice professionals who use their voice actively. However, voice therapy is preferred for the rehabilitation of the voice after the treatment of diseases that cause voice disorders. Voice therapy teaches techniques to use the voice correctly. How is Voice Therapy Done?

Before the therapy, the individual's voice disorder is determined by voice analysis. Voice therapy is given by a speech and language therapist. Voice therapy starts with teaching the individual how to protect his/her voice. Situations that damage the voice can impair the health of the voice, it is very important to know these issues at this point. Correct use of breath, correct breathing techniques are transferred to the individual in this direction. Voice therapy may differ for each individual. Depending on the condition of the individual, it is applied for a minimum of six sessions and a maximum of ten sessions. Voice therapy is determined as one or two sessions and lasts for one to two months.
