Since the biggest cause of anemia is iron deficiency, iron supplements can be used to treat anemia. If vitamin B12 deficiency is seen along with iron deficiency, vitamin B12 can be used with medication or injections. Anemia can also be prevented by consuming fruits, vegetables and animal products and eating a regular and balanced diet. Those who follow a vegan or vegetarian diet are recommended to take supplements of the foods they do not consume. In this way, symptoms of anemia are not seen. Consumption of caffeinated beverages, tea and coffee, which are one of the causes of anemia, should be reduced as much as possible. Anemia must be treated; if left untreated, the patient may face bigger problems.
