When to go to the sea?

When planning a vacation in the summer months, we often come across articles titled "Do not travel without consulting an expert". When I come across an article about this, I think of the story of Aziz Nesin, who consulted an expert to ask "when can I go to the sea?" . For this reason, we see that the sea, sand and sun, which have a special place in our lives, continue to take their place among the indispensables of the summer months. Swimming on vacation, cooling off in the cool waters of the sea has many benefits both mentally and physically. However, there are some important points to be considered while swimming in the sea, even though it is not very aware, sea water temperatures should definitely be at appropriate levels. Appropriate sea water temperatures become very important for swimming in the sea with pleasure.

Seawater reaches its highest temperature when the sun is about to set. In the morning, when the sun rises, the sea water is at its coldest. When the sea water level decreases, it causes a feeling of cold. If a person enters the sea when the sea water level is low, he/she gets cold and may stop swimming. There are basic sea temperature ratios to have a pleasant time while at sea.

How Should Sea Water Temperatures Be?

The optimum water temperature for swimming in the sea does not have an exact value. However, in order to have a pleasant time at sea, it is important to have a water temperature of 22 to 29 degrees for an ideal swim. A water temperature lower than 22 degrees causes the individual to feel cold. A sea water level higher than 29 degrees causes the person to feel overwhelmed. Therefore, the appropriate sea water temperature for swimming is determined between 22 and 29 degrees. However, it is considered normal for adults to enter the water up to 12 degrees. At sea water temperature below 12 degrees, it is considered dangerous to enter the water.

We cannot talk about the same situation for small babies. The appropriate sea water temperature for babies is 26 to 30 degrees. However, the air should be at least three degrees higher than the water temperature. If there is not too much wind blowing and the sea water is not polluted, babies can swim at certain water temperature ratios.
It is not healthy to swim in the sea during the hottest and sultry times of summer. Staying wet in the sun during the summer months when the sam wind blows, the water droplets on the skin act as lenses and damage the skin, causing white spots.
