The WISC-R Intelligence Test is one of the tests with the highest validity and reliability among the intelligence tests applied in our country. The reasons for its high reliability and high preference are that it can measure different abilities and its scoring and interpretation principles are clear. The Wescler test is an individual intelligence test developed by American psychologist Dr. David Wescler in 1939 to determine the mental performance of individuals. This test, which was initially applied for adults, was later modified and made applicable to children. Dr. Wechsler defines intelligence as an individual's ability to adapt to the environment and solve problems. For Weschler, intelligence was evaluated not in terms of learning capacity but in terms of adaptation to the environment. What is important for Weschler is how well the child uses his/her intelligence to adapt to his/her social environment. The focus of the test is based on performance measurement. This is based on the same assumption for all intelligence tests. The test consists of two parts: performance and verbal. Each section has 6 tests, 5 main tests and one sub-test. The test is administered by asking questions to the child in accordance with the instructions and asking the child to answer these questions. The WISCR-R Intelligence Test is a test for children and young people in the 6-16 age group. Since it is an individual test, it can only be applied to one person in a session, not in a group. There is an application and question and answer part. The test takes approximately 1 hour and this time may vary according to age. Although the test is used to find the intelligence score, it is mostly used to identify problems such as learning problems and to prepare rehabilitation and education programs. It provides information about the child's mental development and is used to take early precautions in case of possible problems. The people who will apply the intelligence test must have a bachelor's degree in psychology, psychological counseling and guidance, psychological services in education. In addition, they should have the necessary certificate to apply this test by attending the trainings given by public and private institutions and professional organizations related to this measurement tool.
