Üsküdar University NPISTANBUL Hospital Nutrition and Diet Specialist Özden Örkçü said that ice cream, which is consumed most in summer, is a dessert with high nutritional value.

Stating that the composition of ice cream varies according to consumer habits and regions, Özden Örkçü said, "A good ice cream should contain; fat, fat-free dry matter, sugar, 0.3% stabilizer and emulsifier, 38.3% total dry matter. During the production of ice cream; milk, non-fat dry matter of milk, sugar, sweeteners such as glucose syrup, stabilizers, emulsifiers, vegetable oil / margarine and / or milk fat, chocolate, cocoa, fruit, hazelnut / peanut / almond, caramel, salep, natural and natural flavors are used."

Stating that ice cream is more nutritious compared to other desserts, Özden Örkçü said:

Nutrition and Diet Specialist Özden Örkçü stated that 1 scoop of plain ice cream (50 g) is between 95-110 calories on average and warned that "2 scoops of light ice cream is equivalent to 1 serving of fruit; 3 scoops of normal (plain) ice cream is equivalent to 1 slice of bread + 1 glass of milk + 1 serving of fruit".
