How is Stomach Reduction Surgery Performed?

Stomach reduction surgery is performed after a qualified multidisciplinary team (bariatric surgery specialist, internal medicine / endocrine specialist, radiology specialist, anesthesiologist, psychologist, dietician, coordination assistant ...) evaluates the candidate and comprehensive examinations are performed. After the person who is suitable for surgery is hospitalized, the surgical procedure is performed by a qualified team of specialists in the equipped operating room prepared for obesity surgeries by Laparoscopic (closed) surgery method after the necessary preparations in the general surgery service and the application of the drugs we call premedication.

How Does the Postoperative Process Work?

The patient is walked / mobilized 4 hours after surgery. 24 hours after the control / leakage control, liquid nutrition is started. The patient can be discharged on the 2nd or 3rd day after the necessary trainings and diet program are given to the patient in the hospital.

Liquid nutrition for the first 15 days after stomach reduction surgery; The next 15 days are puree and soft food nutrition and after 1 month, it is in the normal calorie-adjusted nutrition period within the diet list. During this period, liquid foods and solid foods should not be taken at the same time, otherwise it creates a feeling of stuck. The interval between liquid and solid feeding should be at least 25-30 minutes.

Check-ups and examinations should be performed 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after the surgery.
