The Panic Disorder Severity Scale -11--17 years old child form is a 10-item scale assessing the severity of panic disorder in children and adolescents. The scale is designed to be completed by the child upon diagnosis of panic disorder (or in the presence of clinically significant panic disorder symptoms) and then prior to follow-up interviews with the clinician. Each item asks the child to rate the severity of panic disorder symptoms in the last 7 days.
Frequency of Use
To monitor changes in the severity of the child's panic disorder symptoms over time, the scale can be completed at regular intervals as clinically necessary, depending on the stability of symptoms and treatment status. Persistently high scores in a particular domain may indicate areas of concern that are significant and problematic enough for the child to require further assessment, treatment and follow-up. Your clinical judgment should guide your decisions.
