One in three men ejaculates prematurely!
Premature ejaculation, which negatively affects the sexual life of couples, draws attention as the most common sexual dysfunction in men.
Stating that the control of premature ejaculation, which is seen in one of 3-4 men, can be learned, experts point out that the treatment of premature ejaculation, which is accepted as a common problem of the couple, is carried out together: "The aim is not only to treat the problem of premature ejaculation, but also to improve the quality of the relationship and to ensure a healthy sexual relationship that is enjoyed."
Üsküdar University NP Feneryolu Polyclinic Psychiatry Specialist Asst. Assoc. Prof. Emre Tolun Arıcı said that premature ejaculation is a male sexual dysfunction called "premature ejaculation" in medicine.
Stating that in premature ejaculation, ejaculation occurs before about 1 minute after sexual intercourse, without sexual intercourse or before the person's desire, and this situation causes distress in the person, Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Tolun Arıcı said, "In order to make a diagnosis, the person should have regular sexual intercourse at a certain frequency and the sexual life of the person should not have just started. The fact that the partner is new and the features related to the environment that affect the duration and the presence of anxiety are also important in making the diagnosis."
Drawing attention to the clinical features of premature ejaculation, Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Tolun Arıcı said, "There are non-heavy, moderate and heavy forms. Heavy forms are those that occur within 15 seconds before or immediately after intercourse, non-heavy forms are those that occur within 30 seconds to 1 minute after entry."
MOST COMMON DYSFUNCTION
Stating that premature ejaculation is the most common male sexual dysfunction, Asst. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Tolun Arıcı said, "It is thought to be in one of 3-4 men. Despite this, applications for treatment are not frequent. The search for treatment is usually due to the aggravation of the condition over time and the shortening of the ejaculation time to prevent the union or the demand of the spouse. Sometimes it is recognized as an additional diagnosis in couples who apply for another reason such as vaginismus."
Stating that premature ejaculation negatively affects other stages of sexuality in both women and men, Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Tolun Arıcı said, "While short-term relationships can cause inability to orgasm in women, insufficient stimulation and therefore sexual reluctance; sexual reluctance and erection problems may develop in men. Incorrect treatment methods can also cause these problems. Applications to clinics can sometimes be due to these secondary problems."
EJACULATION CONTROL IS LEARNED LATER
Noting that ejaculation control is learned later, such as learning to hold urine and stool in infancy, Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Tolun Arıcı said, "At the beginning of sexual life, this control does not occur and is normal. With experience, the person comes to a certain maturity with regular masturbation and sexual relationships and gains ejaculation control. The start of sexual experience with paid relationships, sexual intercourse experiences in limited times, in uncomfortable, anxiety-inducing environments, irregular and intermittent frequency of intercourse make it difficult to learn ejaculation control."
Stating that it is rare for ejaculation control to deteriorate later, Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Tolun Arıcı said, "This situation brings to mind some diseases such as prostatitis and multiple sclerosis. In this case, it is useful to consult a neurology and urology physician first."
PERSONAL METHODS DETERIORATE THE QUALITY OF THE RELATIONSHIP
Noting that people try a number of methods such as thinking about non-sexual things during intercourse, hurting him or masturbating before intercourse, repeated sexual intercourse in order to prolong the ejaculation time, Assist. Assoc. Prof. Emre Tolun Arıcı pointed out that these reduce the pleasure of sexuality and deteriorate the quality of the relationship.
PRODUCTS SOLD ON THE INTERNET MAY CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS
Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Tolun Arıcı said, "Apart from this, delay spray or anesthetic effective pomades, which are mostly offered for sale on internet sites, reduce stimulation by numbing and cause erectile difficulties. At the same time, these substances can also infect the partner and cause arousal difficulties in him."
Noting that a group of psychiatric drugs can be recommended by some physicians, Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Tolun Arıcı said the following: "The side effects of these drugs are utilized in treatment due to the delay in ejaculation. However, they can impair sexual quality by causing side effects such as reluctance and arousal difficulties, and they are not a permanent solution, and the problem recurs when the drug is discontinued. It may be preferred in rare cases; such as individuals who do not have a partner, who cannot receive sexual therapy."
THE ONLY PROVEN TREATMENT FOR PREMATURE EJACULATION IS SEXUAL THERAPY
Stating that the only known and proven treatment of premature ejaculation is sexual therapy, Asst. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Tolun Arıcı said, "Sexual therapy is performed only by clinical psychologists and psychiatrists trained in this field. Premature ejaculation is accepted as a couple's problem and treatment is carried out together. The aim is not only to treat the problem of premature ejaculation, but also to improve the quality of the relationship, to correct the known mistakes about sexuality, if any, and to ensure a healthy sexual relationship that is not focused on ejaculation but enjoyed in its entirety. The treatment includes information about sexuality, anatomy, physiology, myths, and behavioral homework with the partner. The duration of the treatment is specific to the couple, although it varies depending on the frequency of coming to treatment and the severity of the condition, it is an average of 10 sessions and the success rate is very high."
