Listen to these suggestions in the last week of YKS

The countdown for university candidates has started. On Saturday, June 30, 2018, TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) and on Sunday, July 1, AYT (Field Proficiency Test) will be administered.
Üsküdar University Educational Counselor Ahmet Alkayış shared important information about what to do before and during the exam.
Stating that the candidate, who has the necessary equipment by doing all the necessary studies for the exam, should pay attention to some important issues shortly before and during the exam, Alkayış listed the issues that the candidate should pay attention to as follows:

Do not study one day before the exam

"After all the preparations, studying and solving questions should be stopped one day before the exam. Otherwise, studying and solving questions until the day and moment of the exam will increase the stress and anxiety level of the candidate.

Be sure to see the exam venue

The candidate must see the place where he/she will take the test in advance. On the test day, he/she will take the test with unfamiliar people and in an unfamiliar environment. Seeing the test location the day before will partially relieve the candidate on the test day.

Sleep at the same time

The candidate should sleep at the same time(s) on the evening of the exam as he/she always sleeps. In other words, they should not go to bed too early or too late.

Eat breakfast like every day

On the morning of the exam, you should have the breakfast prepared on normal days. Nothing extra should be done for that day. Parents should pay attention to this issue as well as the candidate. Sometimes too much parental attention on the day of the exam can cause more stress than good.

Start with the subject you are best at

It is only natural that anxiety and stress increase in the first few minutes of the exam. As mentioned before, the candidate should start from the most successful subject or test. This will not only increase the candidate's self-confidence but also help them to use the first minutes of the exam more efficiently.

Focus only on your own booklet

During the test, the candidate should focus only on his/her own question booklet. He/she should not get hung up on the way other candidates solve questions, i.e. faster or slower. Otherwise, the candidate will not be able to concentrate during the exam. Because those who cannot concentrate cannot cope with the stress and anxiety of the exam.

As a result, along with all these methods, the candidate should be able to control anxiety by breathing deeply in situations that are too stressful during the exam."
