People with frequent seizures need to be treated
Neurology Specialist Dr. Celal Şalçini said, "Epileptic seizure occurs as a result of involuntary abnormal electrical discharges of brain cells. If a person has frequent epileptic seizures, he/she has epilepsy and needs treatment."
Long days can lead to seizures
Stating that epilepsy patients being hungry and sleep deprived can trigger their seizures, Uzm. Dr. Celal Şalçini said, "Epilepsy seizures can be triggered by insomnia, hunger, primarily cold and flu medications and similar drugs, explosive lights. In addition, irregular use of medications can also revive epilepsy seizures. Due to the long interval between sahur and iftar due to the season, drug levels in the blood drop very low at certain times of the day and patients may have seizures."

Neurology Specialist Dr. Celal Şalçini said, "For all these reasons, we recommend that epilepsy patients should not fast or at least get information from their doctors before deciding" and emphasized the importance of patients to consult their doctors.
