Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: "A young person with a purpose is beneficial to himself and humanity"
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Rector of Üsküdar University, stated that the interest in the festival, which was held for the fifth time this year, has increased every year and that the interest of young people is pleasing and said, "Every year we see more beautiful projects coming.
We see that students show more interest. This is actually very promising and positive for the future of Turkey. This excitement among young people is very valuable in terms of perspective.
We see that especially young people having ego ideals, having passionate projects in their lives, being in an effort for this is one of the best solutions against the approaches of popular culture that waste people in their daily lives.
Because a young person must have a purpose to suffer for. A young person with a purpose is both beneficial to himself/herself and beneficial to humanity. Not young people who act only with the philosophy of live in the moment. We confuse live in the moment.
Actually, it should be live in the moment. It's a saying that says that one should live in this moment so that one doesn't get caught up in the past and the future and occupy one's mind unnecessarily. It's actually an approach that says live in the moment, let the person bang and play, break the chains, break the walls, live according to your mind. This is an approach that wastes young people and our people. This is unfortunately a trap of popular culture. Against this trap of Hollywood culture, we need to offer quality environments to young people and set good goals in front of them.
This festival has emerged for this purpose. We wanted the youth to have fun and learn while having fun, and to do things with high goals while doing so. Let them realize that the solution to the diseases brought by modernism is actually within themselves."
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: "Young people should make good use of the opportunities that come their way"
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that they attach importance to Project Culture as a university and said that they have many projects carried out with the support of TÜBİTAK and İSTKA.
Stating that the creation and execution of projects is very important for young people, Tarhan noted that they teach projects and entrepreneurship as compulsory courses.
"Young people are lucky, in fact, 10 years ago, 20 years ago, projects were not talked about, now it is important for young people in high school and university to make good use of these opportunities," he said.
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: "Students are excited about projects"
Stating that the National Education Directorate provided important support for the festival, Tarhan said, "The National Education Directorate provided important support and embraced it. Our school principals and guidance counselors embraced the festival and students became excited about the project.
Now we can say that students are thinking about the project." His words received applause from the students. Tarhan said, "Catching the excitement from the project means catching the Nobel Prize. This is how these young people will come out. These things happen with young people who see that dream."
Orhan Erdem "This festival is very valuable"
Orhan Erdem, Deputy Minister of National Education, stated that they included courses such as coding education in the curriculum in line with the developments in technology and said, "We are now living in a period where our young people can stand out in the world with a program they can write.
The richest companies in the world have become software companies. The industrial gains of years have suddenly turned into software, and for this reason, we made coding education a compulsory course in the 4th and 5th grades in National Education. We made it an elective course in 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
Innovation, innovative thinking, we now want to bring our young people together with education that will fit the new age. In this respect, we believe that the valuable project initiated by Üsküdar University 5 years ago is very important."
