It is a test applied by psychologists in order to evaluate infants and children between the ages of 0-6 in terms of development.

It is a comprehensive measurement tool that provides objective information about the developmental level of children in monthly periods starting from 0-3 months up to 48-72 months.

This assessment is carried out in an environment where the parents and the child are together. It includes both questions directed to the parents and observation of the child by the psychologist. It examines development in 4 sub-areas:

Language cognitive development,

Fine motor development,

Gross motor development,

Social development and self-care skills.

In addition to the 4 sub-areas mentioned above, the sum of these sub-areas enables the overall developmental level of each child to be determined. The AGTE is thus very important in answering the question of whether a child's overall development is normal or retarded. It provides guidance on where the child is in which developmental area and what kind of skills the child has developed, which skills need to be supported to improve, and what kind of development chart should be prepared.
