"Being with nature - going to parks: Improves mood and memory, alleviates Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity (ADHD) in children.
Avoid the car: Walking or cycling as much as possible. The stress of driving in a big city is equivalent to that of a fighter pilot.
Know your neighborhood: Being aware of the neighborhood, knowing which shops are there, being socially connected and feeling safe.
Noise: When there is a disturbing sound or noise, even if you are unable to block it out, knowing where it is coming from and its source can create a sense of being in control, which can be comforting.
Refuge in a crisis: When you feel very bad, you should have a refuge to escape to at any time. This can be your own home, your nest, a friend or even a café."
