With the completion of YKS, one of the important turning points that determine the future of university candidates, a new era has entered. While candidates are waiting for the exam results to be announced on July 28; experts made suggestions for the next period.
Üsküdar University Educational Institutions and Guidance Services Manager Specialist. Psk. Dan. Ece Tözeniş gave important advice to candidates waiting for the YKS results to be announced. Tözeniş made the following evaluations:

"What will you be when you grow up? It is probably one of the most common questions we hear. Now you have grown up, you have taken the university exam? Have you really decided what you will be when you grow up?
After the YKS, which was completed on June 27-28, 2020, candidates are waiting for the results to be announced. According to the exam calendar announced by ÖSYM, 2020- YKS results will be announced on July 28. Preferences will be made in August.
This year, the preference and promotion days organized by universities will be held both face-to-face and online, maintaining physical distance due to the pandemic. So this year, there will be many ways to reach universities during the preference period."
Ece Tözeniş listed the things to do until July 28, 2020 as follows:
- If you are still undecided about choosing a department, you can fill out the Career Test https://uskudar.edu.tr/tr/kariyer-testi and see what departments are the most suitable for you.
- 2020 Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide has not been announced yet. When the guide is announced, we will be able to see the official preference and registration dates, newly opened universities, newly opened departments/programs, and quotas of departments/programs.
Do not calculate points every day!
- Stop calculating your score every day until the results are announced. Since the score calculation methods you are currently using are based on 2019 numerical data, they will not fully reflect the score you will receive this year.
- After the results are announced, get expert support to see the right alternatives.
- Be sure to confirm the accuracy of the statements made on social media both during this period and during the preference period on the YÖK or ÖSYM website. These periods are the periods with the most information pollution.
- You can start researching the departments you intend to choose. You can find detailed information about the departments on the web pages of universities. Or you can find answers to your questions by contacting university officials through many different channels such as phone, whatsapp, online interviews, social media accounts.
- You are excitedly waiting for July 28th. But during this period, try to stay away from the exam and preference conversations and try to relieve the tiredness of the years you have spent studying for the exam.
- Whatever the result, your effort and effort is more valuable than anything else, keep this in mind.
