Ear Nose and Throat Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Topak from Üsküdar NPISTANBUL Hospital said that the use of tobacco products such as cigarettes and hookahs leads to laryngeal cancer.
Emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Topak said, "Laryngeal cancer is one of the most common groups among head and neck cancers in men worldwide. Treatment is quite successful when detected at an early stage."
Stating that laryngeal cancer causes some complaints depending on where it originates, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Topak said, "The most common of these are hoarseness, change in voice, difficulty swallowing, feeling of lump in the throat, bleeding with cough."
Noting that the use of tobacco products such as tobacco and cigarettes is one of the most important causes of laryngeal cancer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Topak said, "Those who use these products are 20 times more at risk for laryngeal cancer.
