Awareness and recognition of Alzheimer's disease, which is among the most feared diseases of today, is gaining importance day by day. Üsküdar University NPISTANBUL Hospital made a study on social media for World Alzheimer's Day on September 21. In the project carried out with the slogan "Remember Today", it was emphasized that Alzheimer's is a disease that can be recognized without causing destructive effects on the brain thanks to early diagnosis.
On September 21, World Alzheimer's Day, efforts are being made to draw attention and raise awareness to Alzheimer's, one of the most feared diseases of our age, and to raise awareness about early diagnosis of the disease.
Üsküdar University NPISTANBUL Hospital also drew attention to the disease by conducting a study through social media for World Alzheimer's Day.
"Remember Today" Don't forget Alzheimer's
In the project realized with the slogan "Remember Today", it was emphasized that Alzheimer's patients cannot create memories for the future starting from today. The project, in which a short video was shared, aimed to raise awareness for Alzheimer's Day by "reminding" people of the memories they never want to forget throughout their lives.
Do you have a memory you don't want to forget?
In the video, which includes the answers of NPISTANBUL Hospital employees to the question "Do you have a memory you never want to forget?", some stated that they would never forget the moments when they reunited with their children; another said that they could never forget their high school years, their friendships, and some said that they could never forget the pen their father bought them on their birthday.
"Well, if that moment you never want to forget is today... Alzheimer's patients cannot create memories for the future starting from today. Sometimes they can even lose the memories they always want to remember throughout their lives, the memories they never want to forget." The video ends with the following suggestion: "Remember that Alzheimer's is a disease that can be detected early, before it causes devastating effects on the brain. Remember today, September 21 is World Alzheimer's Day."
Mustafa Can, President of Koro Agency, who realized the project, explained the purpose of the project as follows:
"Actually, we created this project based on a very basic insight. Memories are very valuable pieces of life that make you who you are. No one wants to forget what belongs to them, what makes them who they are. So we came to the conclusion that asking ordinary people about the memories they would never want to forget would help them empathize more easily with Alzheimer's disease. So this video will open a channel of communication and help us reach more people about Alzheimer's disease."
Brain check-ups should be done once a year
