Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: "Prof. Stahl is an idol in psychopharmacology"

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that this day has a historical importance for him and that Prof. Dr. Stephen Stahl is an idol for him in psychiatry, especially in psychopharmacology.

Founded in 2011, Üsküdar University has approximately 16 thousand students in five faculties, 5 institutes and a college, including the newly opened faculty of medicine. Stating that as Üsküdar University, they also received accreditation on this day, which is of historical importance, Tarhan stated that they experienced two joys together.
Stating that Üsküdar University has been participating in the G20 Summit as Neurosience (N)20 for three years, Tarhan noted that they attended the meetings in Antalya in 2015, in China in 2016, in Hamburg, Germany in 2017, and that they will attend the meeting to be held in Argentina this year. Tarhan said, "Here, we express our opinions in determining neuroscience policies. The reason why we were invited to the G20 was that our R&D focus was especially on neuroscience. Focus on a subject and deepen in that subject. I think this is one of the reasons why we received this accreditation, and they especially emphasized this."

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: "Prof. Stahl is a good role model for new generations"

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan said, "Mr. Stahl has some characteristics; he has a great influence on the new generations. He is a clinician who aspires to the difficult. He feels the need to seek and find new methods while dealing with difficult cases. I think Stahl is a good role model for the younger generations. He makes new diagnostic and treatment options open. He is a clinician who asks the question 'What can I do better for my patient', so his works are seminal, his works have been inspiring."
Prof. Dr. Tarhan added that Prof. Stahl was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Üsküdar University for his works and studies.

Prof. Dr. Nesrin Dilbaz: "He is a very good scientist from whom I draw inspiration on many subjects"

Prof. Dr. Nesrin Dilbaz stated that the first book they usually read when they started their residency as psychiatry specialists was Prof. Dr. Stahl's books and said, "Pharmacology was not a very enjoyable course. But with his books, psychopharmacology really became one of our favorite fields and over the years, he established a large institute in the USA, especially with the Neuroscience Institute, both to take part in drug research and to undertake the training of many psychiatrists in the USA. He has many publications and a lot of research. For myself, he is a scientist from whom I take inspiration on many subjects. We have been together for 6 days, I can say that he has broadened my horizons during this time. I would like to say once again that I am proud of our hospital and our university. Because when Prof. Stahl saw the facilities we have at the hospital, he said, 'Do you realize what a great chance you have? My response was something like this; 'Being in it, I guess we don't realize it from time to time, we forget. Someone like you needs to come and remind us of this from time to time.' He advised that we should do more scientific studies, that we should allocate as much time for scientific studies as we allocate for our patients. " he said.
Stating that Prof. Dr. Stahl, the number one Professor of Psychiatry in the world, said that NPISTANBUL Hospital has facilities that are not available in his own hospital, Prof. Dr. Dilbaz said, "In summary, he is a very good researcher, a very good psychiatrist, a very good clinician, an educator and an excellent person. I am proud to host him here as a close friend and to make him understand us better. I am also proud of our hospital and university."
