Üsküdar University, the first thematic university of our country in the field of Behavioral Sciences and Health, has taken a decision to contribute to overcoming the barriers to gender equality. Üsküdar University Senior Management Board decided to change the name of the "Feeling Man" statue in front of the Central Campus, which is the symbol of the university, to "Feeling Human".
Uskudar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that a transformation of mentality is required to overcome the obstacles to gender equality and said that universities, which have a great contribution to the cultural and social development of a society, should have an approach to solving social problems.
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that as Üsküdar University, they want to fulfill their duty to abandon the "masculine" language, which is one of the biggest obstacles to gender equality, and stated that they took such a decision as senior management.

Stating that while traditional values see women as second-class beings, modernism presents sexuality as a women's policy, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan said, "Women and men are different from each other, but women and men are not superior to each other, each complements the other."
