Breast Cancer Treatment

We have already mentioned that the symptoms of breast cancer are usually recognized by palpation. When a mass is detected, a specialist should examine and perform the necessary scans. The scans show the size of the cancer, where it is located and whether it has spread to other organs. After all the scans, it is decided what kind of treatment plan to apply. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgical operations are preferred in the treatment of breast cancer symptoms. Depending on the stage of the patient's cancer, it is decided whether chemotherapy or radiotherapy will be administered before or after the operation. Usually these therapies are administered before the operation because they prevent the cancerous cell from growing and shrinking. Part or all of the breast is then removed. The armpit tissue is also removed along with the entire breast to make sure that all cancerous cells are removed and to prevent recurrence. After the operation, the patient continues to receive chemotherapy or radiotherapy for a while. It should not be forgotten that early diagnosis is always important for the progress of the treatment, necessary screenings should be performed after a certain age, manual examinations should be performed at regular intervals and a specialist should be consulted without wasting any time in case of a mass.
