Nursing is a professional group focused on the care of individuals, families and societies. Our nurses within this system provide the same care and information not only to the individual but also to the family.
In addition to Psychiatric Nursing, we provide Nursing Care within the framework of Patient Safety principles in the fields of Intensive Care Nursing, Operating Room Nursing, Surgical Nursing, which are specific areas.
Professional Nursing Care serves human and society from birth to death. During this service; physiologically, psychologically, socially, spiritually and intellectually, it stands by patients and their families and provides care.
1. Processes included in Patient Safety Standards:
- Effective Communication: With the understanding of Teamwork, patient service is provided with the cooperation of all health professionals focused on patient treatment and care. Patients and their families are informed using empathic and professional communication skills.
- Prevention of Falls: In order to prevent falls and secondary problems that may occur, internationally validated risk assessments of our patients are made by our nurses during the first hospitalization process. For patients with a high risk of falling; caregiver service can be provided, and our nurses closely observe our patients with our 24-hour camera system. Our goal is to prevent falls not only during the hospitalization process but also after discharge through education and information.
- Verification of Patient Identity: While performing examinations, treatment and care of our patients; identity verification is performed. Identity is verified in the form of name-surname/protocol number/ date of birth (day/month/year). In principle, it is sufficient to verify 2 of these verification criteria.
- Prevention of Infections: Although it is simple in terms of prevention of infections; the important issue is hand washing. Hands are washed before and after each procedure to be applied to the patient. Patients and their families are given 'Hand Washing Trainings' by our nurses during hospitalization and discharge.
- Drug Applications: In order to ensure the safety of high-risk medications and all medications, Stockart Medication Management System is installed. Medication purchases are made specifically for each patient by nurses registered in the system. We apply our medication practices in line with the 8+1 Principle and record them on the automation system.
- Right Patient / Right Side / Right Procedure Surgery: In the Surgical Clinic, the area where the surgical operation will be performed is marked, the patient's identity is verified, in the same way, when the patient is welcomed in the operating room and just before the patient is taken into surgery, the patient's identity is verified and the patient is taken into surgery. This is called the Time Out process.
- Safe Blood Transfusions: Before blood transfusion; Cross-match is performed. The principles of line authentication are applied, all information is checked and recorded before the patient is transfused, and the patient is closely monitored for reactions that may develop.
