What is JCI (Joint Commission International) Accreditation?

Accreditation is the process by which healthcare organizations are evaluated by an independent body to determine whether they meet the requirements of a set of standards designed to improve the quality of care.

Joint Commission International (JCI), the international arm of the Joint Commission, has been working with healthcare organizations, ministries of health, and global organizations in nearly 80 countries since 1994.

JCI surveyors consist of clinicians who advocate for patient safety

Focusing on improving the safety of patient care through accreditation and certification services, JCI surveyors consist of highly trained clinicians who advocate for patient safety.

Focusing on healthcare quality improvement and patient safety with expertise in infection control, medication safety, patient care and treatment, patient assessment, and facility safety, JCI's standards have been developed by healthcare professionals worldwide and tested in every region of the world. JCI's accreditation decisions are made by an international committee composed of healthcare professionals.
