The Gender Dysphoria Scale is the Turkish equivalent of the Gender Dysphoria Scale Adult Form, originally developed by Deogracias et al. (2007) (Gender Dysphoria Scale Adult Form—CDÖ-YF), which was adapted by Tarhan, Gökten, Tutgun-Ünal, and Şahin (2021) following studies on Turkish language equivalence, validity, and reliability, and is used to measure the level of gender dissatisfaction.
The scale was adapted into Turkish by administering it to a sample of 368 participants (both heterosexual and non-heterosexual) consisting of college students and transgender individuals. The original scale consists of 27 items, while the Turkish version consists of 25 items and a single dimension.
The Gender Dissatisfaction Scale can be administered to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. There are female and male versions; the “Female Version” should be administered to women, and the “Male Version” to men.
