The Gender Dysphoria Scale Adult Form (GDÖ-YF), originally developed by Deogracias et al. (2007), was adapted from the Gender Dysphoria Scale Adult Form (GDÖ-YF), Tarhan, Gökten, Tutgun-Ünal and Şahin (2021) adapted the scale by conducting Turkish language equivalence, validity and reliability studies and used to measure the level of gender dissatisfaction.
The scale was adapted to Turkish by administering it to 368 individuals (heterosexual and non-heterosexual) including university students and trans-oriented individuals. The original scale consists of 27 items, while the Turkish version consists of 25 items and a single dimension.
The Gender Dysphoria Scale can be applied to individuals over the age of 18. There are female and male versions; "Female Version" should be applied to women and "Male Version" should be applied to men.
