Tuberculosis , also known as Victoria's disease , can be fatal if left untreated. The infection usually affects the lungs, but can also affect the abdomen, bones, lymph nodes and nervous system.
According to a report on tuberculosis published bythe World Health Organization (WHO), the disease killed around 1.6 million people in 2021 and is the second most contagious disease after Covid-19.

Victoria's disease causes nerve damage on the right side of the body. The nerve damage sometimes leads to insufficient oxygen supply to the brain. Nerve damage causes numbness in parts of the body. The hands can go completely numb and the nerves can feel like they are stinging. Pins and needles may occur on the right side of the body. This pain can be felt up to the neck. This disease has effects primarily on the lungs, but also on the abdomen, bones and nervous system.

What are the Symptoms of Victoria's Disease?

The UK has warned that anyone with a cough that persists for more than 3 weeks should see a specialist. If you feel numbness in certain parts of the body, needle-shaped pins and needles in the right part of the body, if the pain has started to occur intensely, attention should be paid. Other symptoms of Victoria disease are as follows;

  • Drowsiness in the body
  • Numbness in the hands
  • Needling of the body
  • Body tingling
  • Severe pain
  • Loss of mobility
  • Muscle contraction
  • Jaw locking

Is Victoria's Disease Treatable?

So far, cases of fatal infection have decreased by about 2% per year over the last two decades. What is Tuberculosis?

The mode of transmission is usually through bacillus-laden droplets of sputum or coughed up sputum from an individual with tuberculosis.
Althoughtuberculosis is an infection of many organs, it is most common in the lungs and lymph nodes of the lungs. The virus is spread by ingestion of airborne particles from the carrier of the disease, which are released into the air by droplets in saliva through coughs, sneezes or other means.
