Nervous diseases are diseases that occur as a result of damage to organs that affect the nervous system.

What is the nervous system?

The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord, cerebellum, cranial nerves and peripheral nerves. Nervous diseases occur as a result of causes affecting these organs and regions. Even the slightest damage to the nervous system can cause nerve diseases. Damage to the nervous system can affect other parts of the body. Nerve diseases are of two types: structural or functional. Nerve cells cannot be regenerated because they do not have the ability to regenerate themselves. There are congenital nerve diseases and nerve diseases such as paralysis or meningitis develop later.

What are Nerve Diseases?

- Epilepsy: A disease in which seizures occur as a result of damage to the nerves in the brain.

- Paralysis: It is the inability to fulfill its functions due to damage to the nerves that provide movement as a result of lack of blood circulation in the brain.

- Parkinson's: A disease known as trembling of the hands as a result of the failure of the nerve cells in the brain to fulfill their functions.

- Meningitis: A disease caused by inflammation of the membrane covering the brain and spinal cord.

- Paralysis of the tongue: The inability of the tongue to function as a result of damage to the nervous system.

- Polio: A disease caused by bacteria. It causes muscles and nerves to contract.

- Nervous indigestion: A disease that causes the nervous system to malfunction and disorganize itself.

- Anosmia: Loss of the sense of smell due to damage to the olfactory nerves.

- Aphonia: Loss of the ability to speak due to damage to the nerves and muscles that help speech.

- Mental illness: A disease of the nervous system characterized by disturbances in thinking and behavior.

- Balance disorders: Loss of balance due to damage to the nerves.

- Headaches: A headache is a condition caused by damage to the nerves.

- Alzheimer's: Alzheimer's is a disease of advanced forgetfulness caused by nerve damage.

- Dementia: Forgetfulness is the stage before Alzheimer's disease.

- Sleep disorders: Damage to the nerves causes sleep disorders.
