Maudsley Obsessive Compulsive Test (obsessive disorder)
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) involves recurring thoughts and repetitive actions in response to recurring thoughts. Obsessions are a set of thoughts, images and feelings that come to the mind of the person involuntarily. For example; the person constantly thinks that his/her hands are dirty even though his/her hands are clean. Because of these obsessive thoughts, the person performs some comforting and repetitive behaviors, which is called compulsive. Usually the compulsive action is a response to an obsession. For example, a person who thinks that his/her hands are dirty constantly washes them. OCD consists of both obsessions and compulsions.
