1st Aerospace and Psychology Congress

The 1st Aviation, Space and Psychology Congress (HUP) was held on 7-8 December 2019 at Maltepe Municipality Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan Cultural Center.
NPISTANBUL Hospital supported the congress, which was organized to increase the studies and scientific researches in the field of aviation, space and psychology.

While our stand attracted great attention at the congress, which was well attended, Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine Assoc. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökben Hızlı Sayar made a presentation to the guests on "Aviation Neuroscience" at the congress. Our employees also provided information to the participants who visited the stand.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hızlı Sayar: "The aviation sector has its own complexity"

Sharing about neuroscience, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökben Hızlı Sayar talked about what neuroscience does about aviation. Sayar; "The aviation industry has its own complexity, as well as the human brain has its own complexity, and when these two come together, a complex set of systems is formed."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fast Sayar: "All disciplines need to work together to minimize the risk"

Speaking about the risks in aviation, Sayar touched upon what needs to be done to minimize the risk. Sayar said, "There should be unity in mathematics, physics, neuroscience and other fields, and all fields should work together hand in hand. In this way, we can minimize the risks in aviation to some extent."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hızlı Sayar: "The point where ergonomics, aviation and neuroscience come together"

Expressing that ergonomics is the point where aviation and neuroscience come together, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hızlı Sayar stated that ergonomics examines the structural, physiological and psychological characteristics of humans. Sayar gave information about neuroergonomics.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hızlı Sayar: "A person can become blind to stimuli in the air"

Saying that some things create a mental burden on people, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hızlı Sayar emphasized that no human has unlimited capacity. Sayar said, "There are a lot of alarms ringing in the air, there are warnings, there are a lot of indicators, and if there is something that the person focuses on in the brain and directs his attention selectively, he can become blind to other stimuli."
