Clinical Psychologist Gürler Güz completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Psychology at Haliç University and earned his master’s degree from the Clinical Psychology Program at Üsküdar University with a thesis titled “Predictors of Treatment Motivation in Substance Users: An Examination in Terms of Substance Type and Personality Dimensions.” He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in the Psychology Program at Üsküdar University. During his undergraduate studies, he completed volunteer internships at the Psychiatry Clinic of Ondokuz Mayıs University, NPİSTANBUL Hospital, Bakırköy Hospital for Mental and Nervous Disorders, and Erenköy Hospital for Mental and Nervous Disorders.

Gürler Güz began working at NPİSTANBUL Hospital in October 2015, where he continued his work in the AMATEM unit; since September 2016, he has been teaching as a part-time instructor at Üsküdar University. As part of his academic and scientific work, he presented papers in 2019 on “Psychometric Assessment in Addicted Patients with Co-occurring ADHD” and “An Overview of Online Addictions”; he has also conducted various studies in areas such as panic disorder, depersonalization, treatment motivation, and scales used in addiction. In 2021, his article titled “State-trait anxiety levels in Turkey during the COVID-19 pandemic and its relationship to somatosensory amplification” was published, and in 2017, his studies on pathological gambling addiction were featured in the literature.

As part of his educational activities, he teaches courses on Positive Psychology and Communication Skills, Psychological Tests and Assessment, Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders and Behavioral Addictions, Family Approach in Addiction, and Group Therapies in Addiction Treatment. In addition, he contributed to book chapters titled “Initial Interview and History-Taking in Addiction” and “Self-Report Scales and Neuropsychological Tests Used in ADHD” in 2021, and “Psychology of Elderly Patients Before and After Surgery” in 2020.

He currently works as a Clinical Psychologist at NP Istanbul Hospital.
