Overall, the fall is happening in two populations. These; We can specify as children under the age of 5 -6 and older individuals over the age of 65. It can be either falling from a height, a bunk or a ladder, or falling from a window. Especially in children, we come across a lot. For this reason, the supervision of children is very important for reducing such accidents. If inside the home; we find falls in the room, kitchen and bathroom. We are also witnessing to fall from the stairs without handrails in double storey houses. There is also the risk of accident as a result of an incision during the time spent at home. We also come across twists and injuries. Especially housewives were in a large risk group, but since all family members are at home within the scope of Coronavirus Covid 19, this risk applies to everyone. ”

Prof Dr. Mehmet Kerem Canbora said, “In researches, regardless of age groups, human factor is in the first place in all home accidents and environmental factors are in the second place. It is mostly in the form of falling in children. Therefore, various measures can be taken. For example, when using bunk beds in a family with many children, children under 6 years old should not be admitted to the upper section. There should not be as many toys and items on the floor as possible in the sections where children run through the house like the corridor. Precautions should be taken to open or close the windows, and there should not be any items such as a cradle, bed or coffee table near the window. The windows must be empty. Another important point items should not be kept in high places. Heavy items should be on the floor, never keep heavy items in the sections above the shoulder level. Because it can fall on children and cause serious injuries. ”

Attention should also be paid to the slipperiness of the floors. The thresholds must be reset. Attention should also be paid to lighting for visual distress. It is also necessary to keep older individuals under surveillance. Because these falls may be of neurological origin. We see more fractures, especially hip fractures, in older individuals. For this reason, vitamin D and Calcium supplements should definitely be applied under doctor's control, especially in women.
Bone density should also be known and followed. In elderly individuals with visual and neurological impairment or severe osteoporosis, some clothes should be considered for the protection of hip and knee circumference and spine. Certain areas of clothing may be supported. It can be considered for simple bumps and falls.
